Celebrating the Invictus Games and Supporting our Soldiers: A Shared Commitment
We are thrilled that the 6th Invictus Games are being hosted in Germany for the first time in 2023. The event, a joint effort by the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) and the City of Düsseldorf, stands as a beacon of hope and recognition for soldiers who have faced physical and emotional challenges in the line of duty.
Under the powerful motto “A HOME FOR RESPECT,” Düsseldorf, in collaboration with the Bundeswehr, extends a warm welcome to over 500 competitors from 21 nations, alongside approximately 1,000 family members and friends. Together, they will participate in ten awe-inspiring disciplines, showcasing not only their remarkable resilience but also their unwavering commitment to the values of unity and strength.
Since 2013, the German Soldiers and Veterans Foundation (SVS) of the German Federal Armed Forces Association has been steadfastly advocating for the integration of the Bundeswehr into society and championing the invaluable contributions of its personnel. Their mission aligns seamlessly with the ethos of the Invictus Games – to elevate the soldiers’ profile and aid them in their path towards rehabilitation.
infodas, a leading force in IT security projects within the military domain, recognizes the significance of social recognition for active soldiers and veterans. Thorsten Ecke, Managing Director Sales, affirms: “It is very important to us to support the social recognition of the active soldiers and veterans of the Bundeswehr and thus the purpose of the SVS.”
This commitment was further solidified on November 7th, 2022, when infodas signed a funding agreement. The SVS’s initiatives, including the “Helping Hands” project and the advocacy efforts of “Together. Not alone.,” are pivotal in providing timely and seamless financial aid, and in bridging the gap between the German Federal Armed Forces and society.
It is through the support of medium-sized companies like infodas that the SVS is empowered to continue their transformative work. By standing together, we reaffirm our commitment to recognizing and uplifting the brave souls who have dedicated themselves to the service of their nation.
