SDoT Labelling Service from infodas receives NATO SECRET approval

The NATO Military Committee has approved the use of the SDoT Labelling Service to protect NATO SECRET and lower-level information. The high-security product from infodas, an Airbus subsidiary specialized in cyber and IT, provides tamper-proof security labels for sensitive data. The SDoT Labelling Service is used in the defense sector, by authorities, intelligence services, and data centers.

“The evaluation and testing process, which was carried out by the BSI (German Federal Office for Information Security) and the NATO SECAN (Military Committee Communications and Information Systems Security and Evaluation Agency) took several years. We are therefore very proud to have achieved NATO SECRET approval for the SDoT Labelling Service. Today, security labelling of classified information is one of the cornerstones of NATO’s data-centric security strategy. Secure classification in these highly sensitive areas is therefore essential for implementation,” says Carsten Schulz, Managing Director of infodas.

The digitalization of government agencies, the military, and companies responsible for security is progressing. Consequentliy, the demand to exchange highly sensitive data with other IT systems, organizations, or nations is constantly growing. With the SDoT Labelling Service, infodas addresses these challenges by enabling the automatic or manual classification of unstructured data using tamper-proof XML security labels – to protect against data leakage in networks with lower protection requirements. These labels bind classification and other metadata to arbitrary data objects and protect the integrity of the data and metadata with digital signatures. This allows for access control or information flow control based on these security labels. This high-security product is developed and produced in Germany according to security-by-design principles. Security authorities and independent experts have tested all components several times regarding their IT security functions.
