Exemplary use cases.

A suitable scenario in which our SDoT products can be used is, for example, a security operations center (SOC) or a command and control entity. Internal and external sources such as SCADA systems, signal boxes, sensors and trains can securely exchange data between domains with different security classification levels, even if bidirectional protocols are used. If required, data packets can be sent back with command and control messages that have been carefully checked and verified down to the bit level.

In the example below, data recorded by sensors about the operating temperature of a switch can be securely transmitted to the control center. Attackers cannot use the same channel to disrupt or sabotage the switch. Optionally, however, a limited number of control commands can still be sent from the control center, such as activating the switch heaters up to a defined temperature range.

Shipping companies are becoming increasingly aware of the rising costs and impact of a cyberattack, often resulting in higher insurance premiums. Regulatory authorities, for their part, are defining strategies and guidelines to establish best practices and increase the cyber-resilience of ships. The main problem, however, is how to implement even basic security measures for the IT/OT infrastructure on ships. This is where our certified cybersecurity solutions can help.
