INFODAS supports NAMFI Air Defense Live Fire Exercise

INFODAS’ SDoT cross domain solution experts recently supported German Air Missile Defense(AMD) Wing 1 in the multi-national Patriot air defense live fire exercise at NATO Missile Firing Installation (NAMFI) on Crete, Grece. NAMFI is a German led, Greece hosted exercise and is supported by The Netherlands. Units from Greece and the US joined as well. 600 people participated under strict COVID-19 protection measures from November 12th to 27th 2020. Patriot is currently Germany’s primary surface-to-air missle (SAM) system against airplanes, cruise missles and medium-range ballistic missiles (MRBM).

Within NATO and partnership for peace data is commonly shared via predefined formats and protocols between air, land and sea units / systems. They are commonly referred to as tactical data links (TDL). Command & control systems (C3) use standardized TDL to relay, transmit and receive data. Since systems and data tend to be of different classification levels, cross domain solutions such as SDoT Security Gateway Express provide the information assurance means to connect, provide and filter tactical picture information in near-real time via Link16 / JREAP up to GEHEIM / NATO SECRET.
